6 June 1944

70 years ago, today, some of the bravest of us stood up, reached out with one strong hand and pinned evil to the wall, with the other we tore the wings from a demon’s back and began the hard fought battle to banish the darkness.

They paid dearly with life, with blood and with sanity.

They saved us all.

Their actions still echo in every free place left in this world.

They can never be thanked enough.
