She parts
the rebarbative fog
of this world
like a wedge of pure sunlight
and as I witness the shadows
withdraw from her presence
I am unable to comprehend
this jewel…

this Rose…

Within a shattered garden
full of enmity and disdain
for beings of such winsomeness
as she

Yet she stands
vivacious and irrepressible
at the center of it all
and every morning
as I leave her sleeping
I see the tear drops of the world
upon the grass
as it weeps to see
such beauty
