The Willow King…

willow

Who knows the pain
in the heart of the Willow King
Who knows why
he hangs his shaggy crown
Perhaps he bows
to his mother
the Earth
Perhaps he was born with that frown
Perhaps he loves a maiden fair
Perhaps he misses her still
Perhaps he danced with her in the spring
Perhaps he never again will
Perhaps he knows too many things
Perhaps he knows too few
Perhaps he loves her just as much
as I have come
To love
you
