Temple…

Her heart
is an artifact
of ancient days
of golden greek fire
in sunsets
and the fickle smile
of a summer goddess
brown waves woven
between a wreath of laurels
and the roaring adulation
of an adoring congregation
voices raised in prayer
runes drawn in the dust
as I untie her sandal straps
the majesty of
cream marble colonnades
statuary depicting her sweet form
flourishing in graceful concert
carved with my heretical hand
from inky quills
dipped in the darkest colors
of her eyes
written by the deepest echoes
of my blood

Was so nice to read your poetry by email but is nicer when you can see the photographs that go with the poem here. Lovely choices Eric!

  2. Beautiful beyond words Eric ❤

  3. This paints a beautiful picture. ♥

  4. You describe so beautifully it’s like you climb inside

    • I’m watching Life Below Zero have you ever seen it? Yes I’m addicted. There is one man in it, he reminds me of you TOTALLY his ethos about work and family responsibility. Awe inspiring. Now if the world of men were like you, I’d be a VERY happy girl

Well how can I not be intrigued after an explination like that. I will have to check it out soon. 💕

        • I’m on the fence as to whether you would truly like it, but I believe you would. I’m a vegetarian life-long and it’s got a lot of hunting in it, but that doesn’t put me off because it’s mostly subsistence hunting. To me that’s not wrong in the way it is to have huge farms of mistreated animals killed en mass and often in vain. On the surface it may appear to be a hunting wilderness reality show but I truly believe it’s far more than that (and I”m not a reality TV fan by ANY means). I see it more as a show about the last ‘wild’ and how fortitude and courage are forgotten in this modern society. For that reason I think you would like it

I don’t have the words to tell you how much I love this, lil’ brother. Suffice it to say it made it to my heart ❤️

Breathless…. ❤️❤️❤️ I wish I saw me as a temple. I’m inclined to respond to you… what I think “she” would say

  7. BoldBeat&NipLESS says:

I feel that you are breathing life back into her. Like you are convincing her. Omg. You have inspired me!

I’m just now getting around today to read those I follow. It’s been a long day for me. You are a true wordsmith, and I’m glad I have the opportunity to read you, Eric. ❤
